SENIOR REGISTRAR

  • Planned and implemented a reorganization of main archive storage

    • Designed a more efficient layout that increased capacity by at least 15%

    • Purchased and installed all-new storage furniture; replaced painted steel and particle board shelving with chrome wire shelving, rolled map cases with flat files, and laminate bookshelves with steel cantilever shelving

    • Reorganized materials to improve physical arrangement and ease of access

  • Lead curator on multiple exhibits

    • Led collaboration with other employees to develop thematic outlines, write exhibit text, establish visual themes, and select images and objects for display

    • Generated body panels using Adobe InDesign for offsite printing; also fabricated most secondary panels and captions in-house

    • Selected and installed objects, including fabricating custom mounts where necessary

  • Exhibits:​

    • Grace, Grit, and Guts: Women of Carbon County (opened May 2019)

    • Building the West: Settling Carbon County and Outlaw Infamy: The Life and Afterlife of George Parrott (opened jointly May 2021)

    • Artists and Artistry in Carbon County  (opened February 2022)

  • Supervised the movement of all exhibit elements and display cases for a recarpeting project (January-February 2019)

    • Revised plan written by outgoing Registrar, in order to accommodate decisions made in interim​

    • Supervised county maintenance workers moving cases and displays; elements were moved around galleries on a rotating basis to accommodate carpeting progress

  • Revised the Collections Management Policies and associated procedures, documentation, and forms

    • Approved by Board of Directors, May 2019​

    • Scheduled revision in May 2022 added sections on intellectual property and digitization

    • Procedures: acquisition/accession, deaccession/disposal, digitization

    • Documentation and forms: Potential Donation Form, Deed of Gift, Permission to Publish Contract, Research Request Form

    • Had multiple documents added to museum website to enhance transparency and accessibility

  • Assisted in writing multiple grants for both exhibits and collections projects

  • Developed digitization project and supervised implementation

    • Wrote procedure for digitizing obituary files

    • Monitored workflow of employee working on project, and checked all final products

  • Evaluated and processed object donations, updated CMS records, and handled information and publication requests
